César Gemayel was a Lebanese artist born in 1898 who trained under Khalil Saleeby and studied in Paris. He developed a unique style that blended Eastern and Western influences, producing warm portraits, vibrant objects, and pastoral landscapes of Lebanon. He did not conform to academicism or Impressionism but instead pursued his own vision. Gemayel also collaborated with Alexis Boutros to establish the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts. He died in 1958 of a heart attack.
