Tony Mhanna (b. 1993, Beirut, Lebanon) is a multidisciplinary artist working across fine art photography and painting. A mechanical engineer by training, he draws on art history, design, architecture, and everyday life to create compositions shaped by space, form, color, and atmosphere.
Since 2014, Mhanna has explored themes of transformation, rebirth, and human experience through photography, presenting familiar scenes with a contemporary sensibility. In 2024, he expanded his practice into painting, creating serene landscapes and poolside scenes that evoke summer, comfort, and stillness. Influenced by modernist minimalism, contemporary realism, and hard-edge abstraction, his work uses simplified geometry and luminous color to create spaces of calm and belonging. The parasol recurs as a symbol of shelter and protection.
Mhanna’s work has been exhibited in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. His first exhibition, WRAITH, was presented during Beirut Art Week in 2019; the work later won the Beirut Art Fair 2020 competition. In 2023, he held his first solo exhibition, including an installation that brought together art and engineering. He was awarded Best First Solo Exhibitor of the Year in Lebanon in 2024. Mhanna lives and works in Beirut.
