About Dima Raad

Across all of Raad’s artworks, there is a common, central theme. The human face, as a vector of expression and emotion. In abstract fashion, Dima portrays the spectrum of color and mood, as seen through the human face, in her own unique style that seems to draw a distant inspiration from abstract expressionism as well as cubism. Raad maintains a sense of distance from the academic understanding of fine arts, firmly believing that artistic expression is not intrinsically linked with technical understanding.
