About George Mattar

George Mattar was born in Beirut in 1961 and received his Architecture-Engineering diploma from ESIB (Ecole Superieure d’Ingenieurs de Beyrouth), Saint Joseph University in 1986. In the year 2000, after a professional career in architecture and construction that spanned fifteen years, he decided to dedicate himself completely to painting and design. George Mattar proved himself to be a multi-disciplinary artist; intermixing sculpture, carving, and painting to create a unique, original, and innovative work of art.  His creative approach was embodied in spiritual subjects, where ideas and designs are stylized and simplified.
