About Jean Guvdérelian
Jean Guvdérelian, also known as Guvder, was a Lebanese artist born in 1923 to Armenian refugees. He was a prolific draftsman, sculptor, and painter. Guvder’s art was heavily influenced by Baroque and Flemish art, as well as the works of Rembrandt and Picasso. He saw drawing as an art form in itself, constantly striving for perfection in his detailed and intricate works. Guvder’s art often reflected his deep interest in various subjects, from still lifes to biblical scenes to contemporary events like the Armenian Genocide. His studio was a space for sharing his passion for drawing and demystifying the works of the Masters.
