About Silwan Ibrahim

Silwan Ibrahim is a Lebanese artist born in 1964, known for his playful figures and colorful compositions. He studied architecture before switching to Fine Arts and graduated in 1990 from the Lebanese University. His paintings are styled with figures and geometric shapes and portray an unusual vision that enraptures the viewer out of this world. Although his paintings are full of wit and humor, they also praise philosophical ideas. The characters in his paintings are often mythical, belonging to European folklore, such as the “sandman.” Ibrahim’s paintings are visually rich, and the details and shapes are in an upward movement against a background that often looks like a calm sky.
