Hussein Madi is a Lebanese artist known for his mastery of multiple mediums, including painting, sculpture, mosaics, frescos, and graphic art. His art was inspired by nature and the creatures of God, which he depicted through acute detailing and abstraction, often reducing their graphic representation to a singular design that he repeated in different sizes, positions, and colors. Madi’s abstract shapes gathered in lines, hinting towards the principles of Islamic art and retracing a Sufi dynamic, a passage to reach the creator, within this multiplicity, he performed the unity. His works were structured with order and discipline, as if building on an invisible grid, and often featured overlapping shapes that attracted and repelled each other, creating a sense of movement without suggesting any illusion of perspective.
