About Magda Malkoun

Magda Malkoun is a self-taught, multifaceted artist born in Beirut in 1982 and currently living in Dubai. Her artworks combine her interests in photography and sculpture, using different types of material and texture to create forms. Magda’s body of work encompasses a series of figurative and abstract art retracing the places, events, and faces she encountered in her journey as an expat away from Lebanon. Her focus is to reflect the psychology behind the individual, depicting their emotions and capturing moments of happiness and grief. Magda draws inspiration from her experiences as an expat and displacement, resulting in thought-provoking and emotionally evocative pieces of art.
