Paul Guiragossian was a highly accomplished artist known for his distinctive style that evolved over time. He initially focused on the daily lives of people, depicting them with empathy and sensitivity, using somber colors, strong outlines, and thick paint. Later, his style became more expressive and gestural, using vibrant colors and loose brushstrokes, exploring various subjects like landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and abstract compositions. Guiragossian’s art was deeply influenced by the art of the Renaissance and the traditions of the East. He was able to capture the essence of his subjects in a few simple yet powerful strokes, especially in his renowned portraits. Guiragossian’s art is characterized by his commitment to social justice and belief in art’s transformative power.
