Amin Sfeir

Lebanese, born 1932
Figurative

Although it is near impossible to categorize his entire body of work, let alone a single painting of his, Amine Sfeir’s brush can be likened to impressionism. Small, yet visible strokes define most of his oil work, on canvas or wood. In an often narrow color palette, Sfeir depicts scenes that seem to emerge from distant memories, often revolving around the themes of love, friendship, affection and childhood.
