Abstract Expressionism and Figurative

Helen Khal was a painter, art critic, and educator known for her figurative and abstract art. Her work was informed by her training at the Academie Libanaise Des Beaux-Arts and the teachings of her professors. She frequently revisited the theme of nudes, particularly her model Mariam, in charcoal drawings and colorful oil paintings. She was one of the founders of Gallery One, the first permanent art gallery in Lebanon.
