Lebanese, 1937-1975
Abstract Expressionism, Figurative, and Modernism

Ibrahim Marzouk (1937-1975) was a Lebanese artist who was deeply influenced by his surroundings and experiences. After studying at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts and spending time in India, where he embraced vibrant colors, Marzouk returned to Lebanon and faced a shift in artistic trends. He later traveled to Italy, where he continued to find inspiration and developed his unique style characterized by lively colors and animated brushstrokes. Throughout his career, Marzouk’s work captured his perception of reality and nostalgia for his childhood in Beirut. As civil unrest grew, his art reflected introspection and a search for security. Tragically, Marzouk’s life was cut short during the civil wars, but his artistic legacy continues to resonate.
