About Issa Halloum

Issa Halloum studied at the National Institute of Fine Art in Lebanon and the Academia di Bera in Milan. His works are inspired by nature and feature richly textured landscapes with vivid colors and airy configurations. Halloum plays with concepts of space and depth, utilizing techniques of chromatic expressionism. His use of color is intense and expressive, with generous pigment application and energetic brushwork. His paintings have a tangible feel and simplify forms through color planes. Halloum’s work alludes to the Post-Impressionists and possesses an unfinished quality that suspends the momentum of the compositions.
