About Zaven Hadichian
Zaven Hadichian was a sculptor who was born in Beirut in 1932. He studied at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts and the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. He was the first Lebanese sculpting teacher and taught at several institutes in Lebanon. His work has been shown in many exhibitions, including at the Petit Palais in Paris and the Sursock Museum in Beirut. Hadichian’s work is serious and meticulous, based on academic principles, yet it also incorporates contemporary styles. His sculptures aim to become symbols and transform ideas into motion. He imbues his works with emotions that take on physical form, resulting in simplified yet powerful lines. His work seeks to transcend the organic and become immortalized in the ideal realm of poetry.
