About Amine El Bacha

Amine El Bacha was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1932. He studied at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1960, he returned to Lebanon and founded the Amine El Bacha Studio, where he taught painting and drawing. He was a founding member of the Beirut Group, a group of Lebanese artists who were active in the 1960s and 1970s. El Bacha’s work is characterized by its use of bold colors and its exploration of geometric forms. He has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions in Lebanon, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. His work is included in the collections of the Sursock Museum in Beirut, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Tate Modern in London.
