About Samia Osseiran
Samia Osseiran Junblat is a Lebanese artist born in 1944. She studied fine arts in Beirut and Florence, and also received a scholarship to study graphic art in Tokyo. Her work is influenced by abstract painting and her Florentine humanism is reflected in her work’s demeanor. She often portrays recurring themes such as the floral, the vegetative, the anthropomorphic, the populous, or the solar, each time with a completely different logic. Her work spans diverse and distinct artistic modes, and she has produced several conventionally abstract works. Samia currently lives and works in her home in Bramiyeh, Saida, which has been the subject of and breeding ground for much of her work.
